What we call today the Gothic district was the nucleus of today’s Barcelona. The Roman Barcelona was funded by the great Emperor August about 12 BC. The city has lived, from that moment, two thousand years of curious events which are depicted in its stories and legends. 

The man has always tried to answer questions that concern him. Nothing happens without a reason and there is always some explanation. The myths, the legends and the science were born from our desire of understanding and reasoning. During the late Medieval Times, the magic, the astrology and the art of alchemy had its important place in the Natural Sciences studies.  People believed in omens and excommunications, carried on amulets, searched the help of mediums, and followed the “signs” and ancient rites. 
The people from Barcelona were no exception… We propose you a walking tour through the obscure stories, strange legends and powerful myths that filled the soul of the City. The souls of the condemned, the witches with their spells to bring the storm, the dinner with the dead, the Inquisition executions…The place were the inferno doors are to find, curiosities about the houses that change their location, enigmatical inscriptions, the Demon that is always conspiring…
These are some of the stories that wait for you in the heart of the Old City.
